大きな倉庫の床一面に、少しの風でもたなびくような2 枚の布を敷きました。その布の間を鑑賞者に歩いてもらう作品です。会場となった倉庫の床は屋外から地続きのコンクリートでできています。人は常に地面の上に立っていますが、その地面の感触を知っているのでしょうか。私たちは日々当たり前に靴を履きます。外を歩く時もずっと靴の上にいて、土を踏むといってもずっと靴にしか触れていません。道路の硬さや土のぬかるみ、雪を踏んだ感触を知っているように思っていますが、実はまるで知らないのではないでしょうか。実際に触れているのは自身の身体に無意識に同一化された靴の表面であり、それを通して抽象化された感触のなかで生きているのです。知っているはずの感触も、視覚情報が変化するだけで容易く変化してしまうのではないでしょうか。

Two pieces of cloth, which flutter in the slightest breeze, are laid across the floor of a large warehouse. The work invites the viewer to walk between the clothes. The floor of the warehouse is made of the same concrete as the outdoor floor. People always stand on the ground, but do they know how the ground feels? We wear shoes every day as a matter of course. When we walk outside, we are on our shoes all the time, and even though we step on the soil, we are only touching our shoes all the time. We think we know how hard the road is, how muddy the soil is and how it feels to step on snow, but in fact we probably have no idea. What we are actually touching is the surface of the shoe, which is unconsciously identified with our own body, and through which we live in an abstraction of feeling. The sensations that we know can easily be changed simply by changing the visual information.
